Where Experience Meets Real-Life Destination Weddings

How I Got Here

I took a different path than most destination wedding agents. I started at a local event company specializing in weddings and large-scale tented events.

My day-to-day involved working directly with couples, their parents, planners, and every opinion in the room to design fully custom layouts using CAD software. I helped choose everything from linens and lighting to flatware, tables, and chairs. It was hands-on, high-volume, and deeply detail-driven work that built my foundation.

In 2015, I opened my first travel agency, MUSE Traveler Vacations. This was where I began immersing myself in all-inclusive resorts and learning how destination travel actually works behind the scenes.

I spent years building relationships with resort partners, understanding group space, and navigating contracts. That foundation allowed me to move beyond booking trips and into supporting experiences that required structure, foresight, and advocacy.

As destination weddings became a larger part of my work, I invested in formal training through Destination Wedding University and earned my Certified Destination Wedding Expert designation.

The program focused on resort operations, group contracts, and the realities of managing weddings from afar. It reinforced what I had already seen firsthand. Destination weddings require a very different level of expertise than traditional travel planning.

In 2021, I was appointed as a U.S. Chapter Head for the International Association of Destination Wedding Professionals. In this role, I support connections between agents, planners, and vendors while contributing insight on how the organization could better serve working professionals.

Over time, this naturally evolved into mentorship, helping others collaborate, grow, and build sustainable destination wedding businesses.

In 2022, I was recognized in Guanajuato, Mexico as one of only two Wedding Tourism Specialists in the world at the time. This designation reflected advanced expertise in destination weddings, including guest travel, group dynamics, and trusted local partnerships.

It was an honor that underscored how much preparation, structure, and real-world experience goes into hosting weddings far from home.

I’ve contributed to magazines, newspapers, and online publications over the years, but this was my first time on the cover. The photo was taken in Costa Rica alongside the U.S. Chapter Head team for IADWP.

Inside the issue, I was described as reflecting “impeccable organization and inspiring creativity,” a moment that felt both surreal and deeply affirming.

I’ve built my career as a destination wedding travel specialist, completing extensive in-destination training and working closely with resort teams across Mexico and the Caribbean. I’ve also mentored other professionals in the industry and earned numerous certifications and recognitions along the way. The credentials below represent just a small sample of my ongoing training and experience.

Kait is our reservations and accounting expert, managing guest registrations and keeping every detail buttoned up.

Based in Michigan but is always on the move, she’s known for working from anywhere the breeze takes her, from Australia, Africa to Iceland and everywhere in between.

I’ve visited 140+ properties, getting to know the teams, layouts, and food so I can guide couples to the right fit. Mexico is my favorite place to explore.
I’m obsessed with design and can lose time staring at a wall, a pattern, or a set of tiles. Growing up in Detroit shaped my love for places with grit and creativity, which is why Central Mexico feels like home to me.
